It's a small place, but the food is great. Everything I have ordered has been great.

Haven’t been here in years. Stopped in for lunch with a coworker. Friendly service, friendly waitress, good food. Taylor Ham Egg & Cheese on a Kaiser. How could you go wrong. I know call it pork roll.

I really like this place. The people are friendly and the food is good. I especially like there breakfasts! Never had any problems with the waitresses. Its a nice place to come eat in peace! When I really want to be alone I sit in the back booths!

Friendly efficient service with a smile. Breakfast Food was good and plentiful. Decor was original retro diner style but clean and in good condition. Pricing is good. Plenty of on site parking. Will definitely return.

Food Was Good, No Handicap Access. I won't be going back because it gets harder and harder to climb stairs

This used to be a four star enjoyable diner for a special reason.If you sat at a streetside window and craned across the street you would've seen an ancient Salem Oak of over 400 years! Now alas it's gone and since the diner fare is only okay it detracts from the historical significance.

i grew up having breakfast here with my grandfather John Fahrner.. best breakfast ever.. so sad we lost John and the salem oak tree..

My favorite place to eat in the Diner is in their Acorn room! I've enjoyed their burgers, fries, coffee, bacon, hash, and more! The waitresses are the sweetest and so personable! It feels like they're friends with everybody in the conversations they have with me and everyone else around me! The retro look of the diner also makes it a winner!

I have been looking for a dinner that looks this cool for a long, long time. Service was friendly, the dinner has been kept in great condition, clean. Unfortunately I did not eat to make any other comments.

This is what diners used to be like. Small, retro dining area, with a great friendly feel. Great menu and knockout breakfasts. The mini-meals are of such huge portions you will have lunch for the next day. Free refills on all drinks. A bit out of the way, but worth the trip. BTW see the oldest oak tree in NJ right across the street!

Ample parking behind a real Diner. Friendly staff and generous portions. If I lived local I would have breakfast here at least once a week.Biggest downside is the restrooms are kinda dirty. But they are busy.

Still a favorite with the locals since it opened in the 50's. What a special treat to have fresh shad again cooked to perfection

Have been here several times for breakfast when visiting Salem. Usually have omelets. Its a small ole time diner atmosphere and I've not been disappointed with any of their breakfasts, you will not leave hungry. Recommended

Great place! I took my children there as we were heading to the Jersey shore....I have such fond memories of my parents taking me to the shore when I was a child...Sometimes we had my grandparents with us...Each time we traveled, we left early in the morning & always stopped at Salem Oak Diner. The waitress was a sweetheart, the food was good (& plentiful), price was budget friendly & diner was clean! Thanks for the memories of the past I was able to remember and share with my children...4th generation diner guests. ♡1

Excellent veal parmigiana, ice cream, banana splits.

I love the turkey club's. If I don't feel like going out just call, order and pick it up. I have never had a bad meal from the Oak Diner. Started going with my grandparents when I was younger.
